A book inventory is usually a complex and labor-intensive project. The book elaborates the cost-effective inventory process, proper hand-held inventory device choosing, and inventory exception handling regarding a variety of related issues, including missing, mis-shelving, on-going shelf reading, and varied inventory exceptions. Inventory can greatly help reduce user frustration by providing more accurate information regarding the library collection for users. The book also suggests useful recommendations based on the lessons learned from the project experience. The experience presents here should be instructive for libraries undertaking similar inventory projects.
