This book covers various concepts of operating systems which serve as an interface between a computer's hardware and its user. Operating systems are responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the limited resources of the computer. The main objective of this book is to present the various aspects of operating systems such as process management, memory management, file systems, and I/O management.

J. Sunil is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department ofVV College of Engineering, Tamil Nadu, India, affiliated to Anna University,Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. He received his BE, ME and Ph.D degrees from the AnnaUniversity, Chennai in 2008, 2011 and 2017, respectively.
