The winds of Information Technology are blowing and making some change in the existing services, hence there was a necessity to evaluate the contribution and achievements of college Librarian professional in the new era. Sound knowledge base, pertinent skills and pro-active positive mind set are the essential components of a competent library and information professional. Do we have that? If not, then the future of academic libraries is certainly uncertain. If yes, then there is no reason to worry about the future of academic libraries. This work was related to the Libraries of Arts, Commerce and Science Colleges affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. This study was concentrated on colleges and its librarians of six district (Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Gondia) colleges. This book would helpful to the library professionals, researchers and students.

Librarian, R. D. Arts and Commerce College, Alapalli, Dist. Gadchiroli, Maharashtra since 15 years. He earned Ph.D. Degree in Library & Information Science from RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur in 2014. He has 20 publications on various aspects of LIS. His areas of interest are library automation and IT applications in Library.
