Water scarcity, Climate change, drought and famine are major natural phenomena that face the world currently. In this write up, we explore strategies that can be applied to mitigate water scarcity through the application of the WEAP model. Strategies employed are based from both economical and social perspectives. The goal is bridging the gap between water demand and supply, and achieving equilibrium in balancing both sides. The focus is the Mara Basin, Kenya.

George Osoro is a Water Resources Expert. He holds a Master's degree in Water Engineering from the Pan African University Institute of Water and Energy Sciences(2016)(PAUWES). A Bachelor's degree in Water Resources Management from Maseno University(2012). He lectures on water resources at the Kenya Water Institute.
