Beschreibung
Stemming plugs are used in mining industry for improving blast performance and mitigating risk of adverse explosive usage. This work explains the usage of three different stemming plugs and compared them with conventional stemming method. Detailed fragmentation and economic analysis is also performed to evaluate the effectiveness of different plugs. Economic and fragmentation analysis strongly establish the utilization of stemming plugs in mining industry.

Authors are professional mining engineers with experience in industry, academia and research. Dr. Muhammad Zaka Emad received his doctoral degree from Canada and is now faculty member at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Mr. Atta Ur Rehman is pursuing his doctorate in United States and carries public and private service experience.
