This book deals with an important subject in Geosciences. The focused topic of the book i.e. the Archaean schist belt of Odisha, India dominantly comprises of Banded Iron Formation (BIF) hosted iron ore deposit. Banded Iron Formation represents the most distinctive and peculiar rock types that occur wide spread in space and time throughout the Precambrian on all shield areas of the world and hardly repeated in subsequent time. The Archaean schist belt of Odisha is tectonically and structurally significant in the sense that the terrain evolution was initiated by the progressive tectonic activities and was suffered multiple phases of deformations. Tectonic enforcement and structural signatures are the decisive geological parameters in the discourse of various aspects of the schist belt like basin development, mineral evolution, metamorphism and ore formation etc. The book includes a number of maps, photographs and diagrams to interpret various structural elements, geometry of structural features, phases of deformation and superimposition framework of structural patterns.
