This book is related to the movement of people from one region to another region which can explain in a simple term i.e. Migration. Migration is very closely associated with industrialization and process of urbanization, Rural-urban migration occur from the less developed economic to developed ones due to appalling poverty, acute unemployment, etc. The present study therefore, intends to analyse the nature and levels of internal migration along with its spited patter in Orissa, for the period 2001. The state of Orissa is one among the least developed states with barely 15percentage of levels of urbanization. The Percapita Net State Domestics Product (NSDP) at current prices during 2005-06 is 17299 where as the all India average is 25716. The present book is an attempt to examine the internal migrants as percentage to total population in Orissa, 2001 and to examine the percentage distribution of migrants in Orissa by duration of stay at the place of last residence, 2001.
