The main goal of this book is that to show Geography as a science has an intrinsic unity based on the principle of spatiality, which embraces many manifestations in some of the main dimensions of this science, and almost all various perceptions from this science and from various aspects of it refer to the principle of spatiality. Accordingly, in part 1 of this book has tried to discuss the nature of geographic knowledge and attempts to read this science based on the principle of linguistic unity and conceptual cohesion in some of its most important aspects. In part 2 of this book the principle of spatiality has traced in history of geographic thoughts. Here, describes that spatiality as a common theme in geographic thoughts though has meant different things to different people by different representations at different times and places, but it has played the role of a common horizon to guide geographers in theorizing and representing Geo-Human interactions. This is an important point to comprehend the identity of geography in the 21st Century.

Mahmood Shoorcheh is currently Lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, Allameh Tabataba'i University (Tehran, Iran). He holds Ph.D. degrees in "Geography and Urban Planning" from University of Isfahan (Isfahan, Iran). His research interests include nature of geography, urban geography and spatiality of social life.
