Pottery is a very ancient and traditional cottage industry and the kumars- peoples engaged in the production of potteries are of a very special ethno-professional group in this country. Since then the potters have been playing an important role in the national economic activities as well as the production of diurnal household utensils. Once upon a time the people of all spheres were very familiar to use earthenwares but technological advancement has influenced its production. They are now changing their traditional types and designs and following the new and contemporary demands. It is now getting more popularity day by day.

Subaran Chandra Sarker is a lecturer of Geography and Environmental Science, Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, Bangladesh. He is interest to research on physical geography and environmental issues. He also interest in GIS and Remote Sensing. During his career he has successfully published several scientific articles in eminent journals.
