This book presents the vast information about electronic waste. Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in India due to increasing market penetration in developing countries, replacement market in developed countries. Electronic waste is much more hazardous than any other municipal waste because electronic gadgets contain thousands of components made of deadly chemicals. Electronic waste contains over 1000 different substances, many of which are toxic and creates serious pollution upon disposal. All over the world there is tremendous growth in the field of information technology. The past two decades have seen strong growth in the electronic equipment market among which computers, mobile phones, televisions, printers, refrigerators, washing machine have shown strongest growth. Electronic waste is also posing problems of collection, transport, treatment and disposal. Electronic waste management is an essential task which has important consequences for public health and well being, the quality and and sustainability of urban environment, efficiency and productivity of the urban economy.
