Schiff bases and their complexes enfold very wide spectrum of its subjects including immense areas of organometallic compounds and many aspects of bioinorganic chemistry. It is a very material compound in medicinal and pharmaceutical fields because of its widespread range of biological activities. Schiff bases play an important role in the development of Coordination chemistry due to their attractive chemical and physical properties and their wide range of applications in numerous scientific areas. The development of Schiff bases and their various metal complexes as an antibacterial, antiviral and antitumour agent, has taken a considerable attention in the medicinal field. The rapid development of Schiff bases resulted in an advance research activity in the field of coordination chemistry leading to very interesting conclusions.

Dr. Garima Matela is a PhD Holder from Kumaun University. She did PhD in Organotin(IV) Complexes and published several Research Papers in different reputed journals. She has worked with many acclaimed Institutes, Engineering College and Degree Colleges of the region and currently working in the Govt. Degree College of Uttarakhand, India.
