The book Heterogeneous Catalysis: A Tool for Production of Fine Chemicals contains the two main chapter. The chapter-1 gives detail idea about the reach history of catalysis since 1790 to present. The history of catalysis divided into six periods. The second chapter includes the Heterogeneous oxidation catalysis of alkanes and alkenes to commodity chemicals. This portion covers various aspects like configuration of Fixed Bed Reactor, effect of promoter, products from cyclisation of alkenes, effect of oxidant in alkane activation, general product profile and effect of structural characteristics of catalysts.

All the authors have very good exposure in the field of catalysis. Among three one scientist form the area of catalysis, one from the area of material science and one from the area organic chemistry. Their combined efforts gave birth to this book. The book will be helpful for the scientist, who is involves in the catalysis of alkanes and alkenes.
