The exfoliation corrosion (EFC) is one of the important localized intergranular form of corrosion that affects aluminium alloys that are used in the construction of aircraft components. The necessary conditions, mechanism, causes, influencing factors, the damage that is caused due to EFC and the preventive and control measures that could be undertaken to minimize the exfoliation corrosion has been briefly summarized in this book.

Renita D' Souza is a research scholar in Chemistry from SHUATS, Allahabad. She has been working in the field of corrosion & its control, green inhibitors and orthodontic wires since 3 years. Published 9 research papers, presented a paper in the National conference and has applied for a patent. She is the recipient of a gold medal in M.Sc and BEd.
