The research reports the proximate compositions, nutritional elements, amino acids, fatty acids and health indices ratio of the raw milk of cow, sheep and goat breeds from Kano and Jigawa States Nigeria, using standard methods. The proximate composition showed that moisture content ranged (82.36 - 87.22%), total solid (15.74 - 17.94%), ash (0.44 - 1.15%), lactose (3.09 - 4.57%), protein (4.08 - 5.32%), fat (3.01 - 5.86%) and solid-not-fat (8.89 - 13.43%), moisture and lactose contents were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in cow breed, while total solid, ash, protein, fat and solid-not-fat contents were significantly higher (P < 0.05) in the sheep breed compared to the other ruminant. Seasonal variation showed that moisture, protein and fat contents were significantly higher (P < 0.05) during the rainy season, while total solid, ash, solid-not-fat and lactose contents were significantly higher (P < 0.05) during the dry season.
