Two diazo ligands derived from m-phenelyenediamine, p-chlorophenol and p-aminobenzoic acid and were synthesized and characterized by different spectral, thermal and analytical tools. This piece of work has devoted with the aim to synthesize Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) metal complexes with the new diazo ligands and to examine their physical properties involving spectral behaviors, the electrical conductance values and to determine the efficiency of the synthesized complexes against pathogenic bacteria. Some complexes have potent antimicrobial and antifungal activities than the parent Azo ligand.

Dr. Walaa H. Mahmoud She is a lecturer of inorganic chemistry, Faculty of Science, Cairo University. She is associated editor of American journal of modern physics and Portico Science journal. She got Prize of Ehab Esmail for the best Ph.D thesis, Cairo University,2014. Her work focused on studying the behavior of different coordination compounds.
