This Book would serve as a baseline data to any future research that would be conducted on the soil and maize plants around Maiganga coal-mine.The officials of Gombe State Ministries of Environment, and Agriculture would also find the Book very useful as it contains the result of an investigation that would let them know the influence of coal mining activities on the soil and maize plant at Maiganga village, most especially now that Gombe State Government through the State Ministry of Environment is working hard to come-up with State Ecological Master Plan in order to address the environmental problems facing the State. It would also guide Students and Researches that intend to conduct a Research around any coal mining area in the world.

ADAMU, SANI JAURO holds an MSc. in Geography with specialization in Land Resources Development, and in just two and half years of his career as a Geography Lecturer with Gombe State University-Nigeria he has published a Book and about 15 papers in reputable journals across the world. Currently he has about three(3)on-going Researches .
