Biosphere reserves are the most important management tools for biodiversity conservation and its sustainable use. The Dena Biosphere Reserve constitute ideal site for research, monitoring, training and education, while through integrated ecosystem approach planning enable local communities and indigenous people to become part of the ecosystem. The Dena valuable biological diversity, promotes access to nature-based experiences and ecotourism activities to create unique opportunities for human well-being and securing essential ecosystem services for future generations, contributing to the achievement of climate change, migration and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Dena BRs managerial coordination builds on the objectives of conserving and developing ecosystems, so that healthy ecosystem can continue to provide ecosystem goods and services, essential for societal health and economic development.

Mahmood Yekeh Yazdandoost studied Ph.D. and Post-Doc., in Environmental Science, at the University of Pune, India. Since 2005 he has been appointed as an Environmental Expert in the Department of Environment (DoE), Iran. His current research interests include: Biodiversity Mainstreaming,Biosphere Reserves conservation and Sustainable Development.
