Beschreibung

Nanotechnology in pest control. The overuse of pesticides in bulk form has led to the contamination of ground water, soil, sediments, plants and animals besides the undesired effects on many non-target organisms. On the other hand, many pesticides are poorly soluble in water for which large amounts of organic solvents are required to solubilize them. Although, biotechnological advances existed when the botanical material used in plant protection, the major problem has been taken into consideration are that of rapidly degradation caused by showed prevailing practices. To take the situation it was needed to harness innovative approaches towards solutions such as nanotechnology (Ghormade et al., 2011). Pesticides in nanoparticular form present an attractive solution for this problem. Their effective concentration is expected to be much lower compared to that of bulk materials and they can be formulated without the use of organic solvents. Potential of Nanotechnology in Agriculture and Crop Protection: Nanotechnology is a new technology playing a vital role in different fields of science like medicine, engineering, electronic, pharmaceuticals, agriculture and food industry.
