A critical appraisal of the prevalent marketing systems and channels and the economic analysis of Citrus reticulate Blanco in the hills of Darjeeling district (India) was carried out. The citrus marketing systems, structures, channels of marketing, price spread, marketing cost, margin of profit of oranges, and post-harvest losses were also researched in detail. The profit percentage of different stakeholders in the marketing channels were also calculated. Subsequently, economic analysis of the profit of the different stakeholders were also computed using various economic tools. Further, the different problems faced by the producers were also highlighted.

Lawrence Lepcha was born in Kalimpong, Darjeeling (India). Did his Masters in Agricultural Economics from SHIATS, Allahabad. Presently he is pursuing his Ph.D. from U.B.K.V., Coochbehar. He has also been awarded the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship (RGNF).
