Beschreibung

Immunological memory it seems to be a phenomena only present in higher vertebrates, however, many insects display a memory-like immune responses, recent research has lead to shift paradigm in innate immune systems. Our hypothesis centers on same cell abilities but deploy in different way, it means, doubling the abilities of biological response machinery in the case mosquito versus Dengue virus. Mosquitoes tissues can duplicate their genomic content perhaps to release higher concentrations of antiviral molecules into environment and diminish virus spreading. The main reason for this research is to found new alternatives to fight this disease, in perspective other arboviruses and another vector-borne-transmitted pathogens.

Autorenporträt

PhD Javier Serrato-Salas. Viral immunologist. Molecular biologist and cell-culture expert. Presently, I work as Associate Researcher in the Innate Immunity Laboratory in charge of PhD Judith Gonzalez Christen, at the Pharmacy Faculty in the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morelos, México. Chemist trainee, specialized in virus-cell interactions in immune response, I dedicate to study DNA content changes and more recently, sugar composition shifts during viral infection.
