This book is about a medicinal plant called Catharanthus roseus which is commonly known as Periwinkle. This plant is well-known for its anti-cancerous properties. Alongwith a wide range of medicinal uses, this plant is a potential source of therapeutic agents especially in the treatment of childhood leukemia. The vegetative and reproductive growth of this plant is affected by important plant hormones such as Gibberellins and kinetin in isolation as well as in combination. Hence the focus of the book is on the response of Periwinkle to foliar application of Phytohormones at various stages such as Vegetative stage; Vegetative and Flowering stage & the Flowering stage.

Dr. Maulik Gadani and Dr. Goral Jani are Ph.D.,M.Phil,M.Sc. in Botany, teaching undergraduate students at St.Xavier's College and Gujarat Arts & Science College, Ahmedabad respectively.They also impart guidance to students in carrying out their projects in Musicology, Plant Physiology, Ecology & Horticulture.
