The book is related to south Rajasthan specially Banswara district and its vegetation of medicinal uses. This ethnobotany deals with folk use of plants especially as medicine because of no-side effects of herbal medicine. The book is valuable to students; pharmacologist, scientists, teachers and the common man have an interest in the field of Ethanbotany, Taxonomy, Ayruveda and Pharmacology. Various explorations or survey of various regions of Banswara districts was carried out for the collection of photographs, plant parts, information of plant parts uses or materials of various medicinal plants reported in this book. The plant description is classified in various subheadings to understand viz. local name, English name, Botanical name, synonyms, vernacular name, family, habitat, ecology, origin and distribution, phenological character, plant description, uses (medicinal uses, edible uses and other uses) and phytoconstituents. The book is written in this manner and style to make the understanding of the subject easily. It is hoped that his book will help in the supplement for various plant drugs and opening of new vistas of various drugs formulaton by plant species.

Dr. Shafkat Rana is Associate Professor in P.G. Department of Botany, Shri Govind Guru Government College, Banswara. He did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degree from MLSU, Udaipur. Dr. Rana has a teaching experience of more than 20 years and published more than 30 research papers in journals of national and international repute.
