Bacopa monnieri(Family Scrophulariaceae) known asBrahmiis used for centuries as a memory enhancer,anti-inflammatory,analgesic,antipyretic ,sedative & anti-epileptic agent. Its memory enhancing effects have been attributed to the active constituent bacosides A and B.Considering its demand,tissue culture protocols are developed;however, they are not efficient, rapid and cost effective for production of secondary metabolites. At present there is no book in market that covers the investigatory aspects of nanoparticles about inducing stress, avoiding phytotoxicity and producing callus induction. This book provides investigatory information about standard protocol for callus formation in"Brahmi", characteristic of nanoparticles, effect of autoclaving on them & their properties when mixed within MS media as well as their effect on callus induction & contamination. This indispensable source book would be helpful for scientists in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Agriculture, Horticulture, Genetics & Plant Breeding who are curious for the in vitro studies of Brahmi. The results mentioned here are the conclusions made by authors which may vary in different climatic & geographic conditions.
