Having many meanings in science, lost generation has become one of the prominent aspects of the twentieth century. The main purpose of this book is to examine and investigate the certain correlation between the theme of lost generation that was created during the war years of twenties and how realistically and stylistically it is reflected into the novel, 'The Sun Also Rises' by Ernest Miller Hemingway. By this book, it is also aimed to get a more comprehensive explanation to the theme of lost generation and to make it easy in considering the features and the themes of Hemingways Nobel Prized artwork. Furthermore, the outer figures that are effective in the constitution of lost generation such as leading aimless life, seizing the day, the trials to forget the past and modernity movement are also mentioned within the scope of lost generation.

As a scholar in the field of Translation & Interpreting, Adem AKALIN was born and raised in the province of Erzurum, Turkey. Having a deep interest in literature even in college years, he focused his studies upon British and American Literature. After he received his M.A degree at Kafkas University, he launched his PhD career at Gazi University.
