This book is about the effect of Discourse Analysis in translation. Discourse Analysis has beeen a new field of study for the last decade. Mixing up such a new field with an ancient study, traced back to Ancient Greece, translation can be an illuminating approach both for Linguistics and for Language Teaching. Inside the book; there is a large amount of information about discourse anaylysis and how it can contribute to foreign language teaching. There are also some classroom applications about it; and some experimental parts that can used in EFL translation classes. For further study, the experimental parts can be enlarged and implemented on larger groups of foreign language learners.

Suna Akalin is born in Erzurum , Turkey, 1964.Suna Akalin's Alma Mater is Ataturk University. Then she got master's degree fom the University of Mississipppi. She finished her Ph.D. in 1996 at Ataturk University. She still works at Atatruk University, department of Eng.Her fields of interset are Elt, Tesol, Sociolinguistics and teacher education.
