Beschreibung

With the advancement in technology, the use of computers has become inevitable. During these years use of low cost personal computers has increased. Easy availability of computation software such as Maple, MathCAD, and MATLAB etc for engineering students has also increased. In the present survey it was found that about 92% of students felt that there should be a virtual environment for electrical machinery course work. The experiments carried out here is an attempt to make laboratory sessions more interactive. Software simulations are carried out using MATLAB/Simulink for machines laboratory. Initially parameters of machine are estimated from basics tests of three phase wound rotor induction motor i.e. DC Test, No- Load Test, and Block Rotor Test respectively. After successful implementation of experimental tests, same tests are performed virtually using MATLAB/Simulink. The results of virtual tests are then collated with experimental results. The advantage of this comparison being that it helps to bridge out gap between real time and virtual environment. The errors here indicate modelling assumptions used for the development of virtual environment.
