Serious computer games are becoming an increasingly useful means for promoting employee learning, development and performance. This book offers new evidence that computer serious games can enhance learning and performance. This book describes a study that investigated the relationship between learning engagement, knowledge attainment and sales performance. The serious game was designed to provide a fun and memorable format for learning and development for travel agents who sell cruise tickets. Moderate to strong positive and statistically significant relationships were found between engagement and knowledge attainment, and engagement and cabin sales. This book would be especially useful for professionals in the fields of Education, Learning Technology and Adult Education.

Lizette C. Calvo, Ed.D., CHES: She received her Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Learning Technologies and her MPH from FIU. She earned her B.A. in Neuroscience from Smith College. Her areas of interest include game-based training, eLearning and educational technology. She is currently an instructional designer.
