Education is a powerful and significant tool with which to make social change, as the positive associations between educational status and health status are well documented. According to the United Nations Human Development Report, education, health, nutrition and sanitation complement each other with investments in any one contributing to better outcomes in the others (United Nations Human Development Report, 2010). Therefore, Academic performance leads to better life opportunities, including economic, psychological, health and social aspects. It is therefore important to understand the type of relationship between the academic performance and nutritional level of the children.
