Beschreibung

Becoming an engaged democratic citizen begins by practicing democracy in the classroom. This book describes the development of a new instrument for assessing students' perceptions of the psychosocial environment that should exist in democratic chemistry classrooms, and reports comprehensive validation information for a large sample of chemistry university students. This book is a good source for those educators who want to create democratic classroom environments in which students learn to exercise voice; to make choices and take responsibility for their own learning; and to understand, give, and receive fair, equitable and respectful treatment.
