Explores Quaytman's merging of austere geometry and luminous colour, and his understanding of the thin line between painting and sculpture: the painting as object. A comprehensive overview of more than 40 years of painting and over 60 international exhibitions. Illustrated with more than 100 beautifully reproduced paintings, drawings, installation photographs and personal photographs. Includes a wide-ranging assessment of the artist and his work by renowned critic Dore Ashton, Quaytman's contemporary and friend.
