Many projects and studies in the evolving fields of art and health care have been published in the last years, for the most part they highlight and show the beneficial effects of art and health care on patients, artists and caregivers, as well as on the entire population due to potential cost savings. This book is about the manifold opportunities and benefits of the application of interactive art in health care environments, it describes how interactive art can become a remarkable extension to classical art and health approaches. Relevant interdisciplinary fields, including device art, robotics or music therapy, provide new opportunities for artists as well as for care givers.
Autorenporträt
Ulrich Brandstätter, born in Tragwein, Upper Austria, graduated Music and Media Technology, Computer Sciences and Interface Culture. His activities include software development, signal processing, electronic music, and combinations of these particular fields. Currently he is concerned with the intersections between interactive art and health care.
