Beschreibung
NPC - Non Player Character - is the name of an artistic performance staged in the virtual world Second Life: an avatar is completely controlled by a computer program and a robot to delegate play, social interaction and the avatars' misbehaviours. The book elaborates on the topics of textual interaction with artificial humans in art, virtual worlds and the hypothesis of interpassivity which is concerned with the delegation of one's actions and sensations to objects and other people.
Autorenporträt
Marlene Brandstätter studied Computer Sciences and Sculpture. As a software engineer she combines both fields by developing creative applications with focus on 3D graphics and real-time image processing. She is affiliated with the Interface Cultures department at the University of Art and Design in Linz where she works as assistant and lecturer.
