In publishing this book, my intention is to share my architecture thesis project work. It consists of the study of my exploration of the issue of community relocation focusing on the cultural aspects and identities of the communities. After identification of appropriate sites, I decided to do an exercise of habitat mapping to document and analyse the communities in different layers to understand their lifestyle and architecture at micro and macro level. After this, it also covers my project outcome with a sensitive architectural proposal as a solution for relocation of respective settlements. Hope this book helps us in starting a dialogue about the issue and pushes all of us to come up with better region specific sensitive solutions to make this world a better place to live.

A fresh architecture graduate from India, interested in exploring socio-cultural aspects of traditional communities and vernacular building techniques which are based on using local resources. Presently practicing as a freelance architect-designer in Belgaum, a small town in South India, exploring natural materials through various forms of arts.
