Development is very crucial and essential to the sustenance and growth of any nation thus libraries have been playing this role through the services they offer. Public libraries are now offering need based services and this is done via outreach programmes, collaboration with corporate organisation, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), conducting projects and research that benefit the community and the nation.

Beatrice Ampadu is a public Librarian with over 15 years experience. She holds an MA in Information Studies and a BA in Information Studies and Sociology. She is passionate to see libraries improving the quality life of the community through its services especially in Africa. She is currently the Outreach Librarian for Ghana Library Authority.
