Indian agriculture is an important contributor of the precious foreign exchange. India is leading producer of several agricultural commodities in the world. Government of India is taking several policy initiatives for promotion of export of all the sectors including agriculture. World Trade Organisation has been playing an important role in shaping global trade. Present book present the role played by WTO policies in shaping the domestic foreign trade policies with regards to agricultural export. In light of WTO and developments after Uruguay Round, the book analyses the export competitiveness of twelve agricultural commodities. The competitiveness is presented in two ways (i) For a period of 18 years for each of the twelve commodities and (ii) Phase wise comparison of these commodities.

Dr Waheeda Sheikh has completed her studies from B.A. to M.Phil from Pune University, Pune, India and Doctoral Degree from Sardar Patel University. She has been working as a faculty of Economics in SEMCOM, Vallabh Vidhyanagar. She has published many research papers in national and international journals. She has also published books in Economics.
