Waqf is endowment made by Muslims to religious ,educational or charitable cause. The institution is one of the most popularly used Micro-financing tool in Muslim world. Waqf tremendously contributed to the welfare and educational development of the Muslim societies. Poverty Alleviation has always been one of biggest challenges faced by Malaysian government up till today, just like any other government, Malaysia have come up with economic policy and reforms to eradicate poverty.However the role of Waqf in poverty alleviation and socioeconomic development particularly in the Muslim world and developing countries has been very significant. Mr.Issa Muktar Adan is currently the Managing director of Muamalat Consulting (K)Limited .He obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College Malaysia (KLMUC). Later, he obtained his masters degree, MBA Islamic Banking Finance from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
