While rising youth unemployment continues to alarm policy makers across all the Indian states, its repercussions become increasingly visible in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This book presents a comprehensive review of the recent trends in key labour market indicators in Jammu and Kashmir in comparison with the rest of India. The authors have attempted to cover both demand and supply dimensions of unemployment and employment situation in the state and the whole country. Dr. Irfan Ahmad Sofi works as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir (India). He earned his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Indore in 2015. His main research interests include Industrial Economics and Labour Law. Binat-ul-Showket is a Master's student in the University.
