The aim of the book is to explain the management concepts in a simple and easiest approach. As the Principles of Management is the first management course for the undergraduate student, this book explains the basic functions of management in a direct and understandable way. Each chapter in this book is very comprehensive and action oriented.This book is organized based on the basic functions of management like Planning, Organizing, staffing, directing and controlling. The first chapter explains the basic of management function, the skills of a manager, evolution of management ideas and current trends and issues in management. The process of planning and the decision making are explained in chapter 2. The concept of organizing and the organizational chart to understand the framework of any organization are explained in chapter 3. The chapter 4 depicts the different motivational theories that are required for the workers in the organization. The budgetary and the Non-Budgetary control techniques with special emphasis on how to use computers in management control is briefed in chapter 5.
