Beschreibung

The book examines the performance of the Nigerian Telecommunications Industry within the context of Economic Liberalization. Prior to the liberalization of the industry, the industry fell short of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) minimum standard of 1 line per 100 inhabitants. The industry was fully liberalized in 2001 with the introduction of the mobile telephone segment. The ITU''s minimum standard was surpassed after that. It was discovered that performance in terms of telephone lines per subscribers greatly improved after liberalization. However, performance in terms of employee per telephone line has not improved. The performance of the industry was found to be more enhanced by technological advancement.
