Beschreibung
Based on evolutionary and mate selection theories, I examined the causal impact of having a girlfriend on universitary male students´ academic performance. Using cross-sectional data from surveys in Universidad de Andrés (Buenos Aires, Argentina), I found some evidence that being involved in a relationship improves academic performance. This work aims to motivate the application of Economic tools and thinking to everyday events and its use on policy making.

Federico M. Rubistein born in Argentina in 1987. He studied Economics (2005-2008) and Finance (2009-2010) at Universidad de San Andrés, where he wrote this work based on his interest in applied economics and how it links to everyday events.
