Beschreibung
This book is about the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Angola. In particular, the study examines the role of SMEs in the growth and diversification of Angolas economy. The analysis focuses at the macro level and, as such, the major political and economic factors are reviewed. The findings suggest that the economic development of the last decade is based on three factors: increase of the crude oil price, increase of FDI, and increase role of large government-owned companies. It is argued that economic diversification requires the government to develop specific policies to assist SMEs.
