This book is a collection of studies on cultural practices of the tribal communities in the upland areas of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Most of the respondents in the studies are students of North Luzon Philippines State College in Candon City, Ilocos Sur who are members of the different tribal communities in Ilocos Sur, Philippines such as the Bagos, Tingguians and Kankanaeys. Other respondents are members and officials of different tribal communities in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

Severino G. Alviento is the Vice President for Administration, Research and Extension of North Luzon Philippines State College in Candon City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is a graduate of AB Political Science at the University of Makati & Master of Public Administration and Doctor of Public Administration at the University of Northern Philippines.
