The main focus of this book was to discuss a decision-making pattern between working and non-working women in their families. The findings of the book showed that working women enjoyed greater freedom compared to non-working women in household decision making. The second focus of this book was to determine the influence of gender norms on decision-making pattern among working and non-working women in their families. Findings revealed that most of women tended to have non-traditional ideologies on their rights towards their decision making. Lastly, the book determined the relationship between socio-economic resources and womans decision-making power. The results revealed that a resource such as monthly income is positively related to the decision making pattern of working women in financial management.

Dr M Sultana Alam is currently a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Human Science, Sultan Idris Education University. She is actively involved in research and publications.
