Beschreibung
Basotho wives of migrant workers in the rural areas of Lesotho generally hava a significant amount of knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and transmission. This seems to be attributable to efforts emanating from different sectors that are mandated to promote education on HIV/AIDS in an effort to raise awareness in the country that is ravaged by HIV/AIDS with a 25% prevalence rate, 26 AIDS-related deaths daily, and 52 new infections daily (Global AIDS update 2016). The knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS enables them to perceive the risk of contracting the virus, especially with their spouses living away from home where they may be engaging in risky sexual behaviors.
