'The Law of Trusts in Germany and France' In 2007 the French legislator decided to introduce the fiducie as general trust-like device into the Code Civil. In his thesis, Christopher Wilhelm picks up this recent development of Franch law and analyses the new French fiducie as well as its German equivalent, the Treuhand, by comparing, inter alia, rights and obligations of trustor and trustee, aspects of property and insolvency law in the context of Treuhand and fiducie as well as their treatment from an international private law perspective.

Christopher Wilhelm studierte Rechtswissenschaften in Bayreuth und Würzburg und war während seiner Dissertation in den Jahren 2010 bis 2013 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Deutsches und Europäisches Privatrecht sowie Internationales Privatrecht der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg tätig. Seit 2015 arbeitet er als Rechtsanwalt bei einer internationalen Anwaltssozietät und ist spezialisiert auf die Strukturierung, Auflegung sowie den Vertrieb von regulierten und unregulierten Investmentfonds im Bereich der alternativen Investments im In- und Ausland.
