'Protection of Minors in Social Networks. With Special Consideration of Image Publications': The protection of minors in social networks is a particularly relevant topic in practice. The courts are increasingly dealing with issues arising from the use of social networks by minors. The inheritability of a user account is just one example of the legal issues that occurs in relation to the use of social networks. The focus of this study is on the publication of images of minors, either by parents (so-called sharenting), third parties or the minors themselves.

Christina Brandt studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Philipps-Universität in Marburg sowie an der University of East Anglia in Norwich. Nach ihrem Studium war sie Doktorandin und Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Bürgerliches Recht, Internationales und Europäisches Privatrecht sowie Rechtsvergleichung bei Prof. Dr. Christine Budzikiewicz. Während der Promotion wurde sie als Stipendiatin von der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit gefördert. Von Mai 2021 bis Mai 2023 absolvierte Frau Brandt ihr Rechtsreferendariat in Kassel, unter anderem mit Stationen in Frankfurt und Brüssel. Nach ihrem Referendariat war sie als Referentin für Europaangelegenheiten bei der Gemeinsamen Geschäftsstelle der Medienanstalten in Berlin tätig.
