Organic geochemistry has come a long way in the significant advances have developed in-between exploration geologists and petroleum geochemists. Organic geochemistry is now a routine part of all exploration efforts by major and smaller companies, although it is disappointing that there is not more emphasis on Organic geochemistry in the academic curriculum of earth sciences. The state aims to illustrate the recent trend that used for the evaluation of the organic geochemistry studies for the essentially to known: (1) What is the organic geochemistry (2) Overview history of organic geochemistry (3) Principals of organic geochemistry (4) Applications of organic geochemistry (5) How the early history and major advances laid the foundation for present practices in the field.
