Beschreibung

One methodological innovation for evaluating Community Development projects is Theatre for Development (TfD), which has been described under different names such as Theatre for Community Animation, Popular Theatre for Community Development, Community Theatre, Street Theatre & Theatre for Integrated Social Development by the practitioners. While it is common to see Community Development Actors using TfD either to enhance the quality of project activities or as a major project activity, the use of TfD as an evaluation tool to assess a Community Development Project is rare despite its potential in assessing the past and the present as well as using the findings of the past and the present in forecasting the future.   This book addresses the use of TfD as a qualitative tool in the evaluation of Community Development Projects. Borrowing from the experience of using TfD as an evaluation tool of a project tagged, Developing A Positive Approach to Living With, Within and Without HIV and AIDS in four rural Local Government Areas of Oyo State, Nigeria, this book discusses the effectiveness and credibility of TfD and encourages the use of other qualitative tools.
