It is essential in order to facilitate decision-making at various levels - whether governmental, institutional or individual. Information is incessantly abundantly in this internet era, information age produced by various agencies. The proper use of information for various activities in a developing country like India requires more attention now days than before; to provide right information, to the right user, at the right time, in the right form. The present era is the era of information and knowledge revolution. Many electronic resources are available in a library. The increase in information available on web has affected information seeking behavior. Innumerable types of information, in a large variety of containers and in many different locations, are all available in one place. Information seeking is a natural and necessary mechanism of human existence. Studies on information needs & use pattern of users in library are perhaps one of the most effective methods of understanding their information requirements

Dr. Vinay B.Patil is a Librarian working in the A.D.P.Ms,Women's College of Arts, Commerce & Home Science, Jalgaon for the last 21 years. He obtained his MLIS & Ph D Degree in Library & Information Science. He has published four books & 40 papers in national & international journals & proceeding.He has guided more than 35 MLISc & 4 Ph.D Students.
