Business English is a new field in Iraq that has become increasingly popular after the tumultuous events of 2003. The immense changes in Iraq have produced an urgent need to develop both teaching and learning English language skills. These needs can be seen across the spectrum of Iraqi society and professions: government agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGO). English is gradually becoming a critical tool for anyone seeking to access the international business sector and the oil industry in particular. This book is focusing on the oil contract "license agreements" that were signed between Basra South Oil Company (SOC) and both British Petroleum (BP) and Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), this agreement was later named as the Rumaila Operation Organization (ROO). The book enables teachers, students, and administrators insights into the obstacles, views, and interviews of TESL process at the (ROO) in Basra/ Iraq.The book analysis contains survey questions, results, charts and tables, with detailed discussions of each result.

Lana Abdul Mahdi Saleem Al Mudhaffar is an ESL teacher of English, an M.A in TESL/ Applied Linguistic from Iowa State University 2012, and a Fulbright Scholar. She taught English language courses at the South Oil Company in Basra, Iraq, with over 7 years of work experience in the oil industry.
